How long will I have with my Physician Assistant?
Each primary care visit is 25 minutes long. Occasionally, a 10-minute visit is available to established patients for quick follow-ups such as blood pressure checks.
Will I see the same person each time?
Yes, you will see the same Physician Assistant each time. This helps to establish an ongoing working relationship.
Will I need to show proof of income?
Because there is a flat fee, there is no sliding scale therefore there is no need to provide information about your income.
What is the cost of the visit?
The 25-minute visit is $80 that is due in cash at the time of the visit. The 10-minute visit for established patients is $40. After the first visit, a longer visit based on the above fees is available to those who need or desire more time. All payment is due in cash at the time of the visit.
Will the practice take checks or credit cards?
No. The practice does not take checks or credit or debit cards. For your convenience, there is an ATM available on site for cash withdrawals.
Will I receive a bill after the visit?
Micro Medical Practice of Santa Cruz accepts only cash at the time of the visit; therefore you will not receive a bill for any other charges.
What is the role of the supervising physician?
The supervising physician is the medical resource for the Physicians Assistant and is available to the health provider for consultations and recommendations when needed.
What is a medication consultation?
This is a visit that allows you to bring in all your medications and obtain a better understanding of how and why you take the medications.
Can I come in for acute problems such as a sore throat or a cough?
Established patients can make an appointment to see the Physicians Assistant for acute problems. We do not see patients on a walk-in basis.
